A floral carpet adorned the courtyard of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), and contained thousands of natural flowers and roses that were made by the decoration unit and planting of the courtyard in the al-Abbas’s (p) holy shrine, to celebrate and rejoice in the blessed month of Ramadhan.

The unit’s official, Eng. Dhiab Ahmad Omran, told Al-Kafeel Network, saying: “This floral carpet is done annually at the beginning of the holy month at the place where the Quranic khatma is held. But, in light of these circumstances, it was placed in the same place but the Quanic khatma is held in one of the basements of the Holy Shrine to a limited number of participants as a result of the repercussions of the Corona epidemic.

He added: “The carpet has a height of one meter and an area of ​​(16) square meters. It contained (5000) plants of the type (Bassia scoparia) or the so-called “Kafshat Maryam”, in the middle of which (3000) flowers are put in a way to write the following verse of the Holy Quran: {The month of Ramaḍhan is in which the Quran was revealed}, and there is a crescent in the middle, and around the perimeter of this carpet, a group of stems of roses and trees were put, such as Petunia, Jaafari and other shade plants. The design and implementation of this carpet took into account the coordination of colours to be an artistic painting that combined symmetry in form and harmony with colour, to send in the heart of everyone who looks at it a feeling of joy and happiness and increases the joy of these blessed days.”
