Proxy pilgrimage, which is designed by Islamic Ideology Dissemination Dept. of Astan Quds Razavi, makes it possible for the pilgrims inside and outside the country to register and request a remote pilgrimage in the person’s name.
Accordingly, so far, 1070 proxy pilgrimages have been performed by servants for English- and Turkish-speaking applicants.
As the director of the AQR Office for Foreign Pilgrims’ Affairs says, “The holy shrine welcomes the presence of millions of pilgrims from different countries yearlong, but now, due to the pandemic restrictions, many pilgrims have their hearts set on this heavenly shrine from afar.”
Proxy pilgrimage is now possible at the international level and all lovers can send their request from far and near since about 20 servants are at service to perform pilgrimage on their behalf, as their proxy, and convey their greetings to Imam Reza (AS).
“During the two days after implementation of the project, proxy pilgrimage has received very good welcome from the Muslims across the world, which encourages us to continue it,” he said.
After the outbreak of coronavirus and imposition of restrictions, Astan Quds Razavi has designed and implemented the project of proxy pilgrimage to facilitate remote pilgrimage to maintain the connection of devotees and lovers of Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine.
