Astan Quds Razavi has announced the intensification of sanitary measures in the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) during the mourning programs of the last ten days of the month of Safar.

Hoj. Ahmad Marvi, the AQR chief custodian, in a consultative meeting of Safar, which was held in the presence of Leader’s representative in Khorasan Razavi province as well as city and provincial managers said, “Every year in the last ten days of Safar, we host a significant number of lovers of the Infallible Imams (AS) in Mashhad, yet this year the coronavirus has imposed exceptional conditions on us.”
Referring to the closure of porticos of the holy shrine, he pointed out that AQR has been receptive to the coronavirus headquarters according to the Leader’s order and has announced its full readiness to reopen the porticos, fully observing health protocols.
“Weather change, rainfall and cold will create difficult conditions, and proper hosting of pilgrims in these conditions is one of the serious concerns of AQR,” he noted.
He pointed to the negotiations and interactions of AQR with the Ministry of Health and anti-coronavirus headquarters to reopen the holy shrine, adding, “I had a conversation with the Minister of Health a few months ago to reopen the porticos while observing the health instructions and asked him to submit health protocols for reopening to AQR which is fully prepared to implement it.”
Stating that AQR spends two billion tomans per month to provide health items to maintain the health of pilgrims, Hoj. Marvi appreciated the support and sympathy of the officials of different organs of the province and considered this coordination of the officials as promising for the bright future of Khorasan Razavi province.
