The ceremony was kicked off by Quran recitation of Omid Hosseininejad and went on by Hoj. Eslamifar’s recitation of Arbaeen prayer book, followed by a lecture of Ayatollah Alam ol-Hoda, Leader’s representative in Khorasan Razavi province and Mashhad’s Friday prayer leader, elaborating the philosophy behind reading Arbaeen pilgrimage book.
Alam ol-Hoda said: “It was Imam Sadeq (AS) who first taught this text to a person known as Safwan Jamal and asked him to read the text whenever he goes to pilgrimage of Imam Hossein (AS) on the day of Arbaeen”.
Emphasizing that reading Arbaeen pilgrimage book adds to the man’s knowledge about Imam Hossein (AS), the Ayatollah added: “The text also brings readers to an understanding about Muslims’ obligations toward Karbala incidents and today’s society”.
Stating that Imam Hossein (AS) sacrificed his blood to save people from danger of ignorance and perdition, Alam ol-Hoda went on to say: “Imam Hossein (AS) fought not only Yazid’s tyranny but also the front who had occupied caliphate. His uprising, in principle, was to protect the Islamic Ummah”.
According to him, the main factor behind domination of such arrogant people as Yazid I was nothing but the ignorance and perdition among people of the society. “This happens when people have no real comprehension of life and follow their passions”.
Leader’s representative in Khorasan Razavi province brought his lecture to an end by saying: “Whoever likes to follow Imam Hossein’s (AS) path has to make a Jihad against this ignorance exactly like what Imam Hossein (AS) did”.
Hosting thousands of pilgrims and lovers of Imam Hossein (AS) in mourning ceremonies held in accordance with health protocols, Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine has become the meeting place for those who have lost Karbala’s Arbaeen ceremony this year.
