Observing all health protocols, lovers of Imam Reza (AS) took part in the New Year ceremony and spent minutes before the beginning of the New Year while reciting verses from the Quran.
Pilgrims of the holy shrine marked the New Year by Naqareh drum playing ritual and the entire ceremony was covered live by IRIB channels.
Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine’s courtyards were all carpeted and the smell of incense filled everywhere.
The ceremony, managed by 30 thousand volunteer servants, was continued by paying tribute to women active in the area of culture.
Speaking at the same ceremony, Hoj. Ahmad Marvi, the chief custodian of Astan Quds Razavi, referred to the desire of millions of people for participating at Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine’ New Year programs, saying: “Like last year, we are deprived of fully serving pilgrims of Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine this year”.
He also said: “It is hoped that faithful people would support the poor so that our Nowruz turns to a manifestation of affection, intimacy and love to each other”.
Elsewhere in this ceremony, the general director of Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine Mohammad Mahdi Baradaran said that protecting the health of the pilgrims is still a main priority of AQR.
“As emphasized by AQR chief custodian, healthcare protocols will be strictly observed at the holy shrine during Nowruz so that the pilgrims could have their pilgrimage with fewer concerns”.
Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine has held a special ceremony for the New Year in the presence of thousands of pilgrims and people of Mashhad.
